Information Security Officer

 

Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, one of the nation’s largest title insurers headquartered in downtown Minneapolis, has an excellent opportunity available for an Information Security Officer. 

 

This position is responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring the information security policies and practices for the enterprise.  Specific responsibilities include:Assessing the security exposures of the organization and developing comprehensive risk based remediation plans Prioritizing risks based on a detailed understanding of business and technology priorities and direction of the businessRecommending policy and procedure changes, and implementing changes once approved Maintaining working relationships with major vendors in the security space including analyzing and recommending vendor solutionsWorking with software development, business units and third parties as necessary to remediate deficienciesProviding on-going status reports to management on activities and progress

 

The successful candidate will have a broad exposure to system, network and application technology and be able to assess, categorize and prioritize security threats across the entire technology infrastructure.  The information security officer has sufficient understanding of technology to help assess risk and recommend technology and procedural solutions to information security problems. This position serves as the principal communication link concerning information security between senior IS management, business units and internal /external audit functions regarding security and risk management.

 

Requirements:

Broad knowledge of multiple aspects of information technology with the ability to translate strategy into executable designs.

Superior written, verbal, and presentation skills required.

Superior ability to cultivate effective working relationships with a broad range of employees and external contacts.

Project management, analytical and research skills with a demonstrated ability to manage initiatives from inception through completion.

Previous experience developing risk based security policies.

 

Skills:

Experience conducting information technology security technology assessments, developing and implementing recommendations.

 

Strong working knowledge of mainstream security management and monitoring tools

 

3+ years of hands on experience in a Microsoft Windows server environment including policy management through Active Directory.

 

Experience with Checkpoint firewalls including configuration, updates, rules management and reporting.

 

Network design skills including Cisco routers, wireless deployment, Network Access Control and IPS technologies.  

 

Understanding of patch management policy and the maintenance of server and workstation software using automated distribution tools

 

Detailed understanding of Microsoft application development environments including .Net, SQL/Server and web based systems.

 

Preferred Skills:

Experience design and documenting business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

 

Audit experience with SAS 70, Sarbanes Oxley, HIPPA standards or similar control and regulatory requirements.

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or industry equivalent certification preferred.
