Insurance Operations Manager

Growing national insurance company desires an experienced insurance management professional to oversee and manage overall office operations and functions of their agency. This position will be responsible for management of office staff and all administrative functions including billing, customer service, vendor relationships, process evaluation/improvement, coordination of new business, etc.

 

Essential functions include:

Management of daily workflow and operations in a way to enhance business objectives

Oversee administrative functions such as billing, collections, and related reporting of premium activities

Oversee customer service activities; oversee licensing

Maintain vendor relationships and review/update contracts as necessary

Develop and implement improved department procedures

Perform human resources activities such as hiring, firing, development, goal setting, and employee reviews

Support business development by implementing procedures for new business and coordinating new business with carriers and clients, etc.

Prepare and oversee department budget and manage and oversee expenses and profitability

Coordinate and monitor carrier audits

 

Education/Experience

Bachelors degree in business or finance preferred or equivalent related experience

7-10 years of insurance administration experience with a minimum of  2-3 years of management and supervisory experience; property/casualty experience a plus

Experienced with computer software related to the insurance industry and is proficient with Word and Excel

Ability to obtain insurance license if not currently licensed

Experienced with leading and motivating staff and developing a team oriented and customer focused work environment 

Experienced with organizing, planning, and handling multiple tasks

Knowledge of compliance for the insurance industry

Ability to develop rapport and maintain strong working relationships with clients and carriers

Experience with creating, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures
