Major Duties and Functions Include: Participates in the development of IT applications to support business needs. Functional Responsibilities: Is responsible for detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. May have customer interaction. Converts specifications about business problems into programming instructions. Designs and codes programs; creates test transactions and runs tests; revises as necessary. Conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems. Monitors operating efficiency of existing application systems. Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale system. What You Need to Succeed: Experienced software programmer analyst capable of rendering sound technical decisions on all aspects of the IT project lifecycle. Candidate should have a basic understanding of various aspects of financial instruments like bonds and stocks. Primary Skills/Requirements: Minimum of 4 years developing Java, Web & Database development Strong XML/XSL/XSD Excellent written & oral communication skills. Strong understanding of Object Oriented Analysis and Design. Other Desirable Tools/Skills: MS Windows NT/2000/2003, MS SQL Server, Websphere, Some Perl and/or scripting Experience in J2EE a plus. Experience in securities industry, preferred. Experience with operational data stores a huge plus. Exposure to Actuate reporting is a plus. Exposure to Microsoft .NET technology is a plus. General Must be willing to travel internationally - 25%. Must support daily production environment including online and batch. BA/BS degree with 4+ years experience in Investment Banking/Financial applications development. International Fixed Income highly desirable. Front-End Trading such as (Charles River, Murex).
