Jr Underwriter

  •Underwrite new applications, reinstatement requests, and policy increases •Review medical exams, lab reports, requirement responses, and inspections •Read and interpret attending physicians’ statements, determine the degree of impairment and in accordance with Company guidelines determine the proper disposition of the application •Communicate through written and phone correspondence with district managers and agents to resolve inquiries   •Accurately handle other duties as assigned including completing accurate and timely activity reports •High School diploma required •1-3 years general work experience •Excellent verbal and written communication skills •Good report writing skills •Successful completion/actively pursuing LOMA I and II •At least 1 year as an Underwriting assistant or in a similar field •Good computer knowledge, including word, excel and access
