Knowledge Engineer

Then you should take a look at Assurant! The role of the Knowledge Engineer will be to promote, enable, and support technical knowledge sharing across geographical and organizational boundaries for the benefit of customers, employees, and partners.  Primary responsibilities include assisting in the development of a knowledge management strategy and Identifying and developing various techniques to facilitate knowledge transfer, design and facilitation of the framework for managing knowledge within the corporate knowledge tool.    Create the framework for knowledge management within the knowledge tool including review and publication processes.Define the structure of the knowledge base, including categories and metadataDefine standards and templates for solutionsWork with application support teams to convert department knowledge documents into the knowledge management tool and workflow Edit new and existing articles for publication within the tool Help create and manage knowledge for the Help Desk including working closely with other subject matter experts to evaluate potential candidates for knowledge Design, create and maintain program web pages, User Guide, Process flows, & Quick Reference Docs Work with technical authors to clarify content as needed Coordinates with the tool owners to ensure that the system remains in peak form Train groups on the knowledge tool Analyze and refine knowledge process through metrics, program activities, and enhancement requests from usersRequired Knowledge/Skills:2+ years experience writing and editing technical documentationThorough knowledge of knowledge management system (Talisma preferred)Bachelor degree or related experience Excellent Writing, editing, listening, and communication skills Creative problem-solving abilitiesExcellent interpersonal / organizational skills Strong attention to detail Enjoy brainstorming with a team Ability to work well across organizational and geographical boundaries Strong implementation project management skills Understanding of knowledge principles and cultures a plus Is able to work well across teams and up and down the hierarchy   If this sounds like the opportunity for you then please apply today! Assurant, a Fortune 500 company and a member of the S&P500, is a premier provider of specialized insurance products and related services in North America and selected international markets.
