#6838 - Lead Project Manager

Transamerica Life Insurance Company, an AEGON company, is a leader in the worldwide insurance industry for over 40 years.  AEGON is an international pension, insurance and financial services organization.  Transamerica is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where approximately 3200 individuals are employed. 

 

This position will be located in the Transamerica Capital Markets (TCM) division. TCM is one of the nations leading providers of annuity and life insurance products to banks, wirehouses, broker/dealers, and institutional clients. In Cedar Rapids, TCM primarily manufactures, administers, and services annuity products issued by several AEGON USA operating companies. 

 

This person will be responsible for managing the overall direction of multiple projects from analysis through implementation for projects with impact both within and across units and will ensure proper resource support based on tasks defined and provides front-line leadership to associates, project teams, and functional managers.

 

Other Responsibilities Include:

·  Serve as project manager for one or more large and complex projects.

·  Accountable for meeting timelines, budget, quality and resource commitments for project(s).

·  Manage and coordinate project direction and scope from analysis through implementation.

·  Actively manage assembling  the project team, determining task to assignments, identifying resource requirements, developing and maintaining project schedule, coordinating  project activities and adhering project deadlines.

·  Define and promote formal communication methods and establish open and consistent communication within the team as well as with the PMO and management. Plan and direct the delivery of information to management and project teams on project plans, budgets, proposals, requirements, analysis, designs, strategies, recommendations, issues and tasks and activities.

·  Conduct team meetings, communicate updates.

·  Direct problem resolution, decision making, communications and other associated activities during all phases of large and complex projects using a pro-active and positive approach.

·  Design and implement a project organizational structure that is cost effective and efficient.

·  Constantly strive for process improvements. 

 

 

 

Qualifications 

·  Bachelors degree in a business related field or equivalent training/experience required. 

·  Project Management certification and minimum 7 years experience project life cycle and project management methodologies preferred. 

·  FLMI, ACS 100, AIA 200 certification(s) preferred.

·  RUP methodology experience preferred. 

 

The salary range for this position is $68,000.00-$90,000.00-$113,000.00.
