My client provides employees with an interesting career move in which they can make a difference with the opportunity for advancement. JOB DESCRIPTION: Directly handle and/or assist in monitoring, reviewing, and coordinating the activities involving complex latent type claims including resolution of coverage issues and establishment of adequate reserves. Review loss notices, confirm, and interpret policy coverages Investigate and handle claims involving primary, excess and umbrella coverage Responsible for assignment to and control of work of defense counsel, assignment of expert witnesses and interfacing with peer carriers including design and execution of defense and indemnity contracts, evaluation of liability and damages, participation in settlement conferences, proper allocation of indemnity and expenses over applicable years of coverages and to appropriate corresponding carriers Ensures proper file setup, reserving, general handling and application of company procedure and coverage interpretation philosophy Participates in developing claims handling techniques, including defense coordination, expense control and strategy Provides specific claims information to senior management relative to all new notices of  loss and maintains specific financial and general statistical records which are used for reporting to management Maintains diary control of reported cases to ensure maintenance of proper reserves to reflect the company’s exposure and adequate notice to reinsurers, and recovery of specific amounts when payment exceeds the company’s retention QUALIFICATIONS: College degree or equivalent work experience Minimum four years experience in latent claims, or a legal degree with at least two years latent claims handling experience Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communications skills Ability to work independently and meet assigned deadlinesKey words: Claims, underwriter, analyst, professional liability, catastrophic injury, litigation, toxic tort, legal, latent injury, asbestos, bodily injury Qualified candidates send a “word” version of your resume to Ann Olasz at aolasz@mri-boston.com .  Due to the large volume of resumes received only candidates with specific qualifications requested by our client will be contacted.
