Licensing Assistant- LAX Area

HCC Surety Group, is seeking a full time Licensing Assistant. HCC Surety Group is a subsidiary of HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. HCC Insurance is an international insurance company and a leading specialty insurance group with offices across the United States and in Bermuda, Spain, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.  This position will report to the Bail Department at our Los Angeles office, near the Los Angeles airport. HCC Insurance operations consist of underwriting agencies; intermediaries; and life, property and casualty insurance companies which are rated A+ (Superior) by A.M. Best Company and AA (Very Strong) by Standard & Poor’s.  HCC Insurance specializes in diversified financial products; group life, accident & health; general aviation; property; marine and energy; and other specialty insurance. 

 

The ideal candidate will have previous administrative assistant experience.  A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a professional office environment is required. College coursework is highly preferred.  This position will report to and work closely with the Bail Processing Manager.

 

 

Skill Requirements:Advanced-level knowledge of MS Office (especially Word, Excel, internet) a must.  Proficient typing (35 wpm minimum) and data entry skills.Must be able to learn quickly, know when to ask questions, and be self-motivated.Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential, as position requires daily customer service and telephone interaction with our clients.  Strong organizational skills and time management skills. Must be detail and results oriented, with a high degree of accuracy.Previous college coursework highly preferred.Must work well in a small office environment, with a willingness to help the team and do general clerical and administrative tasks as needed. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 Process bail agent appointments. Run background checks on individuals prior to appointment. Prepare notice of appointment/cancellation (electronic or paper) to be sent. Follow-up with confirmations in a timely manner.Enter new agents and terminations into excel spreadsheet. File new agent appointment materials each week.Maintain agent database and ensure agent’s license is current and renewed in a timely manner.Prepare monthly Oklahoma report. Revise as needed. Enter agent execution reports into computer system as needed. On a rotating basis, mail bonds to agents.Serve as back-up for all incoming telephone calls for department. .Serve as back-up to open daily agent and court mail.Other related clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
