Lien Settlement Specialist

Our current needs include a full-time, salaried Lien Settlement Specialist.

DESCRIPTION
Manage settlement and defense of medical-legal expenses and/or liens on a file, after the case in chief has been settled.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESReview all relevant documents required to effectively settle liens.Become familiar with medical terminology, claim settlement procedures, and negotiation techniquesInitiate negotiation correspondence for medical provider lien recoveriesUse the telephone, fax or mail to communicate with lien claimantsPrepare lien affidavits for hearings or lien conferencesNegotiate and settle liensCommunicate with claim adjuster who handled the file to obtain additional information about the claimCoordinate attorney attendance at lien conferences if neededHandle phone calls from lien claimants throughout the life of a claimEnter claim notes to document correspondence, conversations and settlementsWrite closing report to file upon settlement of all liens on a file, to document the final result.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSPrevious Negotiation experienceB.A./B.S. degree or equivalent experienceDetail oriented, self-motivated, problem solving skills, and organizational skillsExceptionally strong communication skillsExceptionally strong negotiation skillsProficient in the use of computer systems including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer.  Prefer experience with RSG and FoxPro.
