THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking a Case Manager to join our Insurance Services - Life team in Highland Park, Illinois. 

 

Responsibilities:

 Coordinate applications and supplemental forms used in the application process based on carrier requirementsReview/complete applicationsSchedule exam requirements and follow up with examining service as necessaryHandle submissions of life, disability, long-term care and individual health casesCommunicate with sales and new business associatesCopy applications and prepare underwriting files (use Team intern as needed)Follow up on applications, underwriting status and outstanding requirements, negotiate with underwriters on risk decisionsReview policies, maintain policy copies and organize filesCreate client correspondence (to be done on ACT)Create and maintain client information in Sagitta databasePrepare new client filesBill commission and override data in SagittaSchedule and confirm client appointmentsComplete various administrative tasks as assignedWork on special projects as assigned by management.Maintain insurance license by pursuing industry-related continuing education and training.Pursue a program of personal, professional and career development Adhere to all published Mesirow Financial rules, regulations and procedures.Oversee team intern on new business and case work from other producers on the teamOversee the day to day responsibilities to assist the Team as requested and when neededAnswer phone for the Team Leader to assist the caller as quickly as possibleManage the ACT Database for the Team Leader

 

Requirements:

 

· Bachelor's degree preferred

· Minimum of 3 years life insurance experience (new business experience a plus) or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent presentation and negotiation skills

· Excellent time management and organizational skills

· Superior attention to detail

· Self starter with a strong sense of initiative

· Flexible attitude and approachable demeanor

· Ability to work independently while being team-oriented, prioritize tasks, react to changes and solve critical issues

· Experience with ACT database a plus

· MS Office proficiency; overall computer literate including Internet experience

· Experience with Sagitta a plus

· Must have or be willing to obtain a valid State Life Producers license
