Life Insurance Case Manager/Underwriter

Fast pace national brokerage firm is searching for a highly motivated Case Manager with strong underwriting experience to join our team in New York. 

 

Responsible for the review and evaluation of life insurance applications to determine risk acceptability and coverage.

Responsible for the evaluation of risks for the purpose of determining the best solution through the review of life insurance files, client medical records, and information provided by agents and/or brokers. Serves as a liaison between producers and insurance carriers to expedite the application and issue process.  Objective is to secure the most competitive offer for placement of policy with the appropriate insurance carrier.

 

Assesses risk and negotiates cases with producers and carriers through evaluation of an individual's medical history, financial background, insurable interest and other information pertinent to the decision.  Will gather, review and prepare underwriting summaries to include medical and non-medical information including lab results, examinations, EKG’s, family history, blood pressure, weight, avocation, travel, and more for carrier review.

 

Develop and manage relationships with producers, carrier staff and team members and acts as a resource for underwriting questions and/or issues and as mentor to other associates.
Maintain current knowledge of carrier underwriting guidelines, insurance products, brokerage market, and re-insurance market.
