We are one of the leading insurance companies in the United States.  Our superior financial strength and consistent record of strong operating returns mean security for our customers - and opportunities for our employees.  You will find Travelers to be full of energy and a workplace in which you truly can make a difference. We are currently looking for a Manager, Field Training.  Please read on for more details regarding this position. JOB DESCRIPTION: Current Openings:We currently have an opening in our Claim Auto Product Division in Southern California for a Manager, Field Training.   Job Components:The successful candidate will coach and support the newly hired as well as existing Auto Damage Appraisers within the region to ensure high quality, effective appraisal management and to develop the best technical resources in the insurance industry by - Providing appropriate resources and tools to develop appraiser technical knowledge and workflow process for damage evaluation, method of repair and negotiation. - Analyzing overall results and trends to identify areas of opportunity for the auto reinspections.- Riding with appraisers on a regular basis to provide coaching and guidance.- Conducting monthly reinspections of appraiser work product to verify/monitor appraisal quality and identify opportunities for improved results.- Participating in the coordination of resources to respond to catastrophe loss activity. - Providing timely feedback to local and regional claim management on appraiser work performance results. - Participating in fraud deterrence and detection activities.- Collaborating with Specialty/Heavy Equipment Auto Claim Representatives to develop scope/estimate preparation on large and/or complex losses.  Qualification/Requisite Skills:- College Degree with a minimum of 5 years claim handling experience or as a body shop manager or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience delivering hands-on technical training. - I-CAR and ASE certified in Damage Analysis and Estimating.  Additional training that includes Collision Repair 3000, Steering & Suspension and Damage Analysis.- Insurance license(s) as required by state/jurisdictional regulations.- Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively build and maintain relationships in a fast paced environment. - Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure. - Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. - Demonstrated leadership and management skills.- Supervisory/management experience preferred. - An acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and the ability to meet the travel requirements of the job are required.   Critical Success Factors:- Solid computer skills including working knowledge of ADP¿s PenPro, CPCS, CCC¿s automobile software applications, Word and Excel and the ability to learn new software programs as needed. - Solid understanding of the auto settlement process in terms of damage assessment, coverage, evaluation, negotiation, and final settlement.- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of auto construction and repair techniques.- Superior auto damage estimating skills.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Solid team player with leadership ability.- Strong time and expense management skills. In addition to an exciting environment, we offer: * Competitive base salary with additional opportunities for variable pay through recognition programs and incentive awards * 401(k) with company match* Comprehensive health plans that include coverage for same sex/domestic partners* Strong work/family and employee assistance programs* Tuition reimbursement * Vacation Purchase Plan* Training/Development opportunities We are proud to provide comprehensive, high quality employee programs to meet employees' needs now and in the future, including a very competitive financial package.
