Job Description:

We are looking for someone to manage our client’s growing User Interface team in Jersey City. In addition to managing this team, the UI Services Manager will be responsible for design, development and debugging of web-based user interfaces in a dynamic, fast paced environment. The Manager will work closely with Information Architects, Application Developers, the Creative team & other RIA Developers/Designers to bring to fruition the creative vision. This position requires a detail oriented senior level developer with project based experience leveraging leading edge emerging/RIA technologies that seamlessly integrate with back-end systems.

Qualifications/Skills:

Strong knowledge of pertinent Web design issues including, but not limited to: XHTML, CSS 2.0 & 3.0 and browser/platform compatibility. Knowledge of current trends in web design techniques and technology advancements like AJAX, DHTML, Table-less CSS layouts & Conditional CSS. Possess a strong understanding of programming, server software operations (JSP’s, Jscript) and content management systems. Experience with separating presentation from content. Strong conceptual thinker, with an ability to take Photoshop comps and visualizes how to execute in XHTML/CSS with attention to detail. Knowledge of all standard web graphic optimization techniques and file extensions and appropriate use of each. Minimum 5 years experience in hand coding XHTML and CSS. Expert level knowledge of table-less CSS layouts using DIV’s, floats and layers. Familiarity with advanced JavaScript, HTTPrequest/AJAX techniques and Yahoo UI libraries is highly desirable. Experience working in a collaborative environment with other graphic designers, back-end developers and project managers. Knowledge of traditional internet development processes and workflow. Strong communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to convey concepts/requirements to a variety of personalities. This includes communicating with an offshore team on a daily basis.

1. Leadership qualities with experience managing a team of onshore and offshore developers.

2. Must be able to hit the ground running and manage work with minimal supervision.

3. Possess a keen eye for IA, design, and usability, and have an understanding of accessibility guidelines.

4. Be detail-oriented in all facets of work, from code, communications to execution.

5. Participate in all aspects of software development lifecycle.

6. Preferably, has experience with on-site/off-shore delivery model.
