Marketing Specialist

Primary Purpose

Accomplishes the Marketing departments objectives by assisting department in a wide range of activities necessary to meet the goals of the department; strengthening and/or building relationships through communicating, coordinating, preparing for and attending trade show activities in accordance with departmental and company guidelines and standards. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

·  Works with partner associations by responding to complaints, questions, advertising, and agreements to help build and maintain these relationships.

·  Coordinates and makes necessary arrangements for various events such as but not limited to WRA and other association trade shows, agent trade shows (all states), agency meetings, and agents’ golf outing.

·  Represents Company by attending trade shows as well as maintaining, coordinating, and shipping booths for these events throughout the year.

·  Manages co-op advertising and educational programs with agents.

·  Files and maintains Society Insurance’s status as a continuing education provider with state regulatory offices.

·  Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications and literature; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

·  Manages and distributes leads to Regional Sales Managers and follow up on leads in accordance with departmental standards.

·  Ensures customer service by assisting agents with website issues.

·  Acts as the primary marketing contact person to work with IS Dept. regarding web changes to ensure consistency and accuracy throughout entire website.

·  Responds to telephone solicitation from outside vendors seeking Society’s business.

·  Contributes to overall Marketing function by completing a variety of assigned projects with accuracy and timeliness.

Required:

·  Bachelors degree in business, marketing or insurance field.

·  Ability to use multiple software packages (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, Internet applications, e-mail, and Power Point).

Preferred:

·  Knowledge of the independent agency system and basic principles of insurance.

·  Knowledge of graphic design concepts and experience applying these concepts in brochures, forms and other deliverables.
