Medical Coordinator Assistant

Southern California Risk Management Associates (SCRMA) part of the York Insurance Services Group, provides nation wide claims administration services for both insured and self-insured, public and private employers.

SUMMARY:

 

This position is an entry level position responsible for supporting the execution and continued quality of the Utilization Review Program (s). Job duties center on data entry and assisting the Medical Coordinator. Also responsible for generation of letters, preparing client bulk mail and assisting in gathering medical reports for preparation and submission to the Medical Director information associated with program execution.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

· Work in close coordination with the Medical Coordinator for completion of all support duties and documentation for UR Services: specifically typing all letters and notices, etc. (which includes copying multiple parties such as medical provider, employer, injured worker).  This process requires the ability to stand for brief periods of time (copy work), as well as perform computer typing, mouse use, sorting, folding and stuffing envelopes on a consistent basis daily for mail preparation.

 

· Complete data entry for report documentation of medicals scanned with accuracy as well as burn scanned medicals onto CD on time.

 

· Train and Mentor the Medical Assistants for completion of all claims documentation via letters and notices, etc. This includes continued audit of letters and work product of the assistant for growth and development

 

· Develop an appropriate level of understanding of all Managed Care products to include MPN, RTW, Medical Case Management, Utilization Review and internal systems (Claims Connect, Renaissance System, Work Link Application, Word Based Programs, Excel, etc.).

 

· Interface with utilization review staff as needed with the goal of successful interaction and coordination of all offered services.

 

· Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma and 1-2 years professional experience.

 

EXPERIENCE:

· 1 – 2 years data entry experience.

 

SPECIAL SKILLS:

· Strong typing and data entry skills

· Ability to perform repetitive upper extremity work on a daily basis

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

· Must be able to take direction and correction

· Customer service oriented – internal staff and external clients

· Strong communication  skills: effective and accurate, written and verbal form

· Strong organizational skills which support timely and well documented action

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, excel and windows based products
