Member Communications Specialist
JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the creation and revision of member communication material for the Government Programs business unit as assigned. Projects include a variety of member communication media including the Annual Notice of Change and Explanation of Coverage documents, ads, brochures, direct mail, external newsletters, overhead and on-screen presentations, benefit summaries and provider directories, among others. REPRESENTATIVE JOB DUTIESSimultaneously work on multiple projects writing CMS required documents, ads, brochures, letters, direct mail, sales kits, new member kits, newsletters, and articles for the member magazine including development of concepts and copy/editing in working in conjunction with Corporate Communications. Working with the Product Manager, serve as a proofreader, ensuring that copy is accurate, clearly written and compliant with CMS requirements. Ensures that copy adheres to all style, corporate, and brand standards prior to release for review, layout or publication. Support MA Product, RiteCare Product, Plan 65 Product, GP Reconciliation, Enrollment, Customer Service, Billing & Cash Receipts, GAU and Individual Sales areas to ensure all member communications are CMS compliant.Facilitate the communication requirements of Federal regulatory mandates, which pertain to Government Programs business unit. This includes the development of standardized notices and model letters for Government Programs business unit.Participate in cross-functional teams from other areas of the company for various projects and implementation effortsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:Knowledge of:Basic marketing principles Local health care market and managed care strategies.CMS Marketing Material guidelines and regulationsTechnical Skills:Highly developed oral and written communication skillsEditing skillsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels of the organizationTime management skillsProblem solving skillsFlexible, independent, self-starter with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Ability to:Manage diverse and deadline-oriented workflow while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and effectiveness.Develop new and unique ideas, which are considered a valuable asset in brainstorming sessions.Exercise sound judgment.Take initiative in finding solutions to difficult and/or sensitive problems.Relate well to superiors and accept constructive criticism and direction.Demonstrated ability to handle and cope effectively with change.Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism or related field. Three or more years of experience, preferably in developing Medicare/Medicare Advantage marketing materials; copywriting/editing, sales/promotional writing, advertising methods, reporting/interviewing, marketing services or other position that requires the highest level of written communication and interpersonal skills within the healthcare industry.
