The .NET Software Engineer’s role will be to create and maintain proprietary applications as part of an overall project team. Primarily this role will develop internal business applications, and/or the revision of existing computer programs as part of the development team. Additionally, develops, tests, and documents computer program designs and program modifications.

Responsibilities

•Designs and develops new modules for HBDC proprietary software packages and programs in accordance with internal and external business requirements.
•Responsible for the issue of new releases of proprietary software packages.
•Develops, writes and tests structured programs using the tools and pre-coded modules available.
•Applies appropriate programming techniques to ensure thorough editing and validation of data, ease of maintenance for future modifications and enhancements, and efficient use of computer resources.
•Reads computer printouts or observes display screen to detect syntax or logic errors during program test, or uses diagnostic software to detect errors.
•Replaces, deletes, or modifies code to correct errors. Analyzes, reviews, and modified programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
•Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections. Writes manuals for users to describe installation and operating procedures.
•Provides tier 2 technical support and assists users to solve operating problems.
•Recreates steps taken by user to locate source of problem and rewrites program to correct errors.
•Monitors performance of program after implementation.


Required Experience:
•Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information systems preferred. Minimum of six (6) years experience as a programmer required.
•Familiarity with low-level network libraries, object manipulation, stored procedures, UDF, and code documentation procedures and functions are required.
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft C# programming languages, coding and testing methodology. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Classic ASP and ASP.Net web programming language and coding methods.
•Strong understanding of T-SQL
•Familiarity with the use and functions of XML and web services required.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio and Team Foundation Sever as pertains to the deployment of source code.
•Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Additional Optional Requirements

•Knowledge of HIPPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance as pertains to information technology standards and practices.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.
•Working knowledge of Symantec Backup Exec software.


Required Education:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information systems preferred. Minimum of six (6) years experience as a programmer required
