This role supports Unum’s large case employee benefits market and collaborates with Unum’s local sales team for selling new business and growing existing client base. Position is responsible for ensuring highest level of customer service to our policyholders and brokers of employee benefit plans. Accountabilities include meeting/exceeding performance standards for service, quality, productivity and customer expectations. Responsible for client block retention and cross selling new lines of coverage to existing customers. This role offers the ability to work as an individual contributor as well mentoring & leading others on the account management team. This position partners effectively with internal and external business partners in achievement of client implementation.  WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 3 years employee benefits /insurance industry knowledge preferred Strong track record in customer service from loyalty, technical and marketing perspective Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills Strong negotiation and influencing abilities. Full understanding of underwriting and financial risk concepts. Strong ability to identify & solicit cross sell opportunities. Licensed to solicit insurance in the states within assigned territory. Active in local insurance community through advanced education and affiliation memberships. Strong written, verbal communication & presentation skills Strong organizing, planning, time management and delegation skills. Ability and desire to coach and mentor others. Likes working with others and in a team environment. Ability to work independently a structured environment. Cross selling experience a plus Bachelor’s College degree preferred. Willingness to learn needed technical aspects of the job. Good business acumen and professional demeanor.
