Network Administrator
HCC Surety Group, is seeking a full time Network Administrator. HCC Surety Group is a subsidiary of HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. This position will report to our Los Angeles office, near the Los Angeles airport. HCC Insurance operations consist of underwriting agencies; intermediaries; and life, property and casualty insurance companies which are rated A+ (Superior) by A.M. HCC Insurance specializes in diversified financial products; group life, accident & health; general aviation; property; marine and energy; and other specialty insurance.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years network administrator experience. Previous work experience in the insurance industry, banking, mortgage, escrow/title or finance environment is highly preferred. Some related college coursework/classes is preferred. This position will report to and work closely with the Business Analyst in the Information Technology Department.
Skill Requirements:
-In-depth knowledge of Networking Operating Systems, with an emphasis on MS Windows networking including domain structures, Active Directory, system administration, and Windows Terminal Server.
-Experience with MPLS networking.
-In-depth knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems.
-Demonstrated working knowledge of MS Backoffice products including Exchange, ISA Server, and Internet Information Server.
-Demonstrated working knowledge of NetBackup and Backup Exec.
-Demonstrated working knowledge of network infrastructure and operations, including switching, routing, Ethernet, TCP/IP.
-Demonstrated proficiency with various software packages, including a minimum 2-3 years experience with MS Office Professional Suite.
-Demonstrated experience in creating and setting up networks for remote office locations.
-Demonstrated experience with telephone system management, including programming extensions, hunt groups, and direct lines.
-Demonstrated knowledge and minimum 2 years experience working on Intel-based personal computers.
-Strong printer problem resolution skills and hardware configuration/repair experience.
-Excellent customer service and telephone skills to service and work with users, departments, and branch offices in a professional service environment.
-Ability to support multiple applications and network environments.
-Outstanding problem-solving skills.
-Team-focused and customer-oriented individual.
-Ability to provide off-hours support.
Job Responsibilities:
-Develop and maintain server and network documentation.
-Install, configure, and maintain server operating systems.
-Install, configure, and repair Dell server hardware.
-Manage network system backups.
-Install and maintain server-based application software packages.
-Provide tier 1 and assist with Help Desk as required in desktop support activities.
-Support remote users at branch office locations.
-Perform system administration duties in a Windows Active Directory environment.
-Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing.
-Perform routine preventive maintenance on all hardware on a routine and scheduled basis.
-Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
-Adhere to SOX requirements.
-Provide new user orientation.
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date time records.
-Maintain inventory of equipment.
-Maintain overhead projectors and loaner pool of laptops.
-Other duties as assigned.
