This position responds to various inquiries from potential customers, brokers,and Certified Application Assistants (CAA) via telephone, providing accurateinformation on the Healthy Families Program and Blue Shield of California.

Also responds to phone, correspondence and e-mail requests for information fromvarious marketing channels promptly and accurately by preparing and mailingappropriate packets of information. Places follow-up calls to determineinterest.

Places outgoing calls to current members on eligibility renewal.

Assists, over the phone, applicants in completing the Healthy Families Programapplication.

Assists callers in locating providers near them.

Supports field outreach team in performing enrollment and retention activities.

Educates others on the Blue Shield Healthy Families products, providing accurateinformation and updates to policies and procedures, improving overall customersatisfaction in the process.

Also will transfer calls, as appropriate, to Member Services, translationvendors or other entities as appropriate.

Works with minimal supervision.

Strong understanding of the Healthy Families Program required.

Must be fluently bilingual in English/Spanish.

Must have previous Call Center experience.

Attendance/punctuality is very important; must be available to work 8-hour shiftbetween 8am -7pm. Occasional overtime opportunities to work Healthy Familiesenrollment events on weekends.

Must be a current Certified Application Assistant (CAA). This is REQUIRED.



Requires High school diploma or GED and two years member/customer serviceexperience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Claims processing or related HMO experience and/or training.

Ability to enter and retrieve data using computers with related softwareapplications.

Excellent interpersonal, writing and business telephone skills.
