P&C Claims Examiner II - Tulsa

 

Medallion Staffing has an immediate need for a P&C CLAIMS EXAMINER II for the Subrogation dept of our client, who is a financial services provider in the Tulsa area.  This is a direct hire, permanent placement position.  This position will start at a salary of 29.9K-37.5K (which equals $14.38-$18.02 hourly), plus bonuses.  It is 1st shift and 40 hours per week.  This client has excellent benefits, such as Medical, Dental, Life, and Vision Insurance, Paid Vacation, Paid Sick Days, Paid Holidays, Short term and Long term Disability, 401K, educational assistance, and eligibility to participate in the Examiner Bonus Plan.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

· An examiner's duties include investigation, monitoring, negotiating, and settling cases that appear to have an insurance carrier as a fund source. 

· Responsible for all recovery activities on a specified segment of client’s service, including cases related to personal auto physical damage, and property damage both personal and commercial. 

· Investigate, review, calculate, negotiate, monitor and settle within supervisory limits, all claims for right of recovery or subrogation on those cases in accordance with governing state laws and the applicable policy.

· Cases managed will be distributed/assigned at the supervisor's discretion based on the employee's P&C insurance knowledge, the lien dollar value, state assignment, client, or complexity of a case. 


DUTIES:

· Investigation of all assigned cases to identify the presence of subrogation or right of recovery potential.

· Prepare arbitration documents under the guidance of the unit supervisor and/or legal department.

· Apply proper maintenance and case handling procedures in accordance with Operations standards.

· Investigate all relevant information required to place all parties on timely notice of client’s interest.

· Accumulate and verify proper lien amount in all assigned cases through review of client records and systems.

· Develop and monitor cases to timely settlement by maintaining timely follow up telephone contact with all parties as appropriate including third parties, insurance adjusters and attorneys.

· Assist in the preparation of cases for arbitration.

· Negotiate cases and secure settlement with attorneys, third parties, adjusters, and/or client’s insured.

· Complete of all settlement procedures, including settlement screens, proper documentation of settlement and follow up to insure the recovery checks are received and posted by accounting.

· Work cooperatively as a recovery unit, sharing knowledge with others.

· Maintain current suspense with no more than 5% total file count delinquent in the 3-7 day category

· Maintain no case delinquent beyond 7 days for a four-month period.

· Maintain an accurate backlog by timely and appropriately rejecting cases.

· Maintain file quality commensurate with the standards established.

· Completes settlement screens in a timely and accurate manner.

· Maintain a zero incident ratio for compliance errors.

· Consistently demonstrates the ability to work independently as documented in a recent performance evaluation.

· An Examiner should demonstrate consistent recoveries based on assigned caseload.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High School Diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred

· 1+ year of P&C (property& casualty) insurance claims subrogation and/or adjustment experience.

· Preferred:  adjuster's license, or a Paralegal Certification with experience in personal injury litigation or worker's comp

· Excellent computer skills (MS Office, etc.) 

· Excellent skills in receiving, cataloging, and reviewing detailed technical information.

· Ability to work with minimal supervision in a goal oriented team environment.

· Screening Requirements include a Criminal Background Check, Credit Check
