Pensions Benefits Consultant

Major Duties and Functions Include: Responsible for handling all administrative matters regarding the payment of benefits under established Institutional Income Annuity contracts. Will work closely with clients, annuitants, Reporting & Financial unit, Client Relations, Third party Administrators, Tax, Legal, Pricing, and Contracts units. Will provide annuity administration as dictated by the contracts. Obtain information, assemble data and document facts needed to respond to service requests and inquiries. Follow established procedures to process transactions such as deaths, termination, and benefit commencement. Responds to requests for information; resolves administrative or service problems. Ensures that all transactions are processed according to established service standards. Prepares client reports; may participate in client meetings or conference calls. Leads training initiatives as identified Identifies and implements process improvements and documents processes as needed. Perform Rollover / 1035 Exchanges and related accounting transactions. Provide backup support to other Pensions Benefits Consultants; serve as back-up for assigned plans Perform other duties as required. What You Need to Succeed: College degree preferred. NASD licensed, Series 6 or willing to obtain within 180 days. Intermediate knowledge of Word, Lotus Notes, Excel, and Windows. Excellent professional level written and oral communication skills are a must. Must feel comfortable in initiating communication with business partners and clients to obtain quality results. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Ability to make effective decisions in a time sensitive environment. High degree of detail orientation. Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of annuities a plus. Promotes a positive and professional teamwork environment at all times.
