Pricing Analyst I or II

This position partners with the Product Management team in order to perform the data analysis and provide the general support necessary to maintain state insurance programs.  This includes taking a data driven analysis from start to finish and deriving recommendations around various pricing decisions.  Specific duties include the preparation of weekly/monthly reports and assorted data models that monitor loss development and other trends, analyzing competitive data, and more detailed reviews to better understand the key drivers behind state specific results.  General support provided by this position can include compiling information needed to support rate revision activity, maintenance of various forms required by a state's Department of Insurance, and assisting the Product Manager with the coordination of various cross-functional areas needed to complete rate revision activity and other state specific changes.

Qualifications required:
Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field.  Good working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft products - Access, Word, PowerPoint.  SAS experience or other programming background that demonstrates the ability to manage large volume datasets.  Possesses the analytics aptitude and confidence needed to identify/understand the problem, examine the options, and choose the best course of action.  Ability to draw conclusions from data collection and analysis.  Creative thinking and a willingness to always
question if something could be more efficient or be changed to provide better and more useful information.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Comfortable making recommendations and presenting results.

Qualifications desired:
Master's Degree in a quantitative field with a statistical component.  Insurance experience.  Mastery of Excel including macros, pivot tables, and other key functions.  MS Access (queries and reports).  Solid SAS skills within the UNIX, PC, and mainframe environments or other programming background that demonstrates the skills needed to manage large volumes of data.  Mainframe experience (RUMBA,TSO).  Familiar with Project Management methodologies and comfortable coordinating the efforts
of cross-functional areas.
