Product Manager - Personal Auto &/or Residential Property
Imperial Fire and Casualty Insurance Company currently has an excellent career opportunity to join our Product Development team in Dallas, Texas. The Product Manager will be responsible for program management, profitability, and growth of personal automobile and/or residential property insurance.
Summary of Job Responsibilities:
- Make fact based strategic decisions based upon knowledge of the market, which includes competitors, regulatory and legal environment, claim trends, and agent relationships
- Review, analyze, and revise rates, rules, and forms on an ongoing basis to meet company growth and profitability goals
- Dissects and manages data at a granular level to optimize risk selection, market segmentation, competitive position, and profitability
- File rates, rules, and forms with the DOI and work with regulators to obtain approval
- Communicate program changes to marketing, underwriting, claims, and IT
- Communicate results, statistics, and key information to senior management
- Test programs to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Coordinate with Compliance Department on rules and requirements for entry into new markets
- Design and execute analysis at the direction of management to address specific opportunities
- Assist in the completion of quarterly reserve analysis and rate reviews
- Has a thorough understanding and maintains records of competitor filings, underwriting guidelines and other marketplace information. Track and analyze competitor rates and changes
- Develops and maintains relationships with state regulators by insurance department visits and participation in industry group meetings
- Maintains an awareness of internal / external forces, business directions, financial dynamics, and new technologies that can significantly impact future effectiveness & efficiency of organization
- Can implement a workable plan of action
Qualified candidates must have:
- Bachelor’s degree. Degree in Math, Statistics, Business or Insurance preferred
- Three or more years of marketing, product analysis, and product management for personal auto and/or residential property insurance. Experience in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas a plus
- Advanced computer skills including Access, Excel and Word. VB, and/or SQL are a plus
- Experience in extracting, monitoring, formatting, and understanding data
- Ability to stay organized on multiple tasks
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Strong analytical skills including actuarial and statistical analysis
- Ability to work effectively both independently and with others in a team environment
- Participation in or completion of technical insurance programs CPCU, ARe, ARM is a plus
Position
- Full-Time salaried position
- Occasional overnight travel required
- Position is located in our Dallas, Texas office
