Professional & Technical Trainer

The Professional & Technical Trainer provides direct training and development services to the Medica employee population, including professional and interpersonal skills, health and wellness subject matter, software proficiency, and industry-specific knowledge. Job duties include needs assessment, instructional design and curriculum development for either classroom, self-study or e-learning delivery, stand-up classroom delivery, one-to-one training, test design, level three (behavior change) assessment and results reporting. Trainers also develop relationships with key Medica customers to ensure that employee training needs are met and that information and systems changes are imported into training instruction on a timely basis.
Bachelors degree in a learning and development field ideally related to health care administration. 3+ years experience delivering instructor-led training in a corporate environment.  Prefer health insurance or other similar (e.g. financial, other insurance) corporate background experience, and/or experience in health and wellness education, psychology or other human behavior field. Prefer experience with conducting needs assessments, instructional design, curriculum authoring and evaluating training results through a variety of tools and methods required.  Certifications in training curriculum or instruments a plus. Understanding and incorporation of adult learning theory into classroom instruction. Excellent verbal and written skills and a dynamic, engaging classroom presence.
