Job Description:

 

This position is responsible for participating on one or more project teams, clarifying business requirements, and performing application development and modification activities, as well as related maintenance and support.

 

Job Functions:

 Participates in project planning session with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements.  Develops applications, or performs application maintenance, following written technical specifications and with general supervision.  Assists with the translation of business and technical requirements into application modules.Utilizes one programming language or software technology, fully understanding and applying disciplined software development processes.  Is developing and applying knowledge of the customers’ business.  Manages own tasks within the project plan(s).  Works directly with the Project Manager to ensure communication and priorities are being met.Modifies software application modules using disciplined software development processes.Tests and implements application modules they have developed or modified.  Applies QA principles and processes.  Ensures application meets needs of client and business.  Makes corrections as required.Provides ongoing maintenance of applications or tools.Handles support issues within area of expertise.Documents programs according to ITS standards to provide a guide for ITS development.Participates within practice groups, team meetings and continues training opportunities.  Also, provides work status reports to supervisor as required.Provides production support, which may require 24x7 coverage.

Education:

Associates or Bachelors Degree in computer science (or related field), technical training, or equivalent work experience.
