MetLife, a leading provider of insurance and other financial services to individual and institutional customers, is seeking a Provider Services Manager in Westport, CT! Major Duties and Functions Include: Highly specialized job function that is responsible for day to day management of a staff responsible for specific provider related functions including information and referral, research and provider verification. Provides oversight of all benefit administration support functions including correspondence, imaging and associated processes and a portion of the concurrent review process. Performance management of staff including hiring, termination, promotion, coaching and performance planning. Staff 7-10 initially, but expected to grow under our business model. Staff development including new hire training, ongoing in service and individual retraining Development and updating of processes and procedures Leads projects to analyze opportunities for change and implements process improvements to achieve cost savings, service improvement or fraud prevention Monitor assignment and status of work to meet departmental performance standards Resource for staff for higher level review of decisions Provide reports to the management team Maintains workplace in compliance with HIPAA privacy laws Maintains a positive work environment and fosters teamwork Supports all distribution channels What You Need to Succeed: 3 to 5 previous supervisory/management experience including performance management and proven ability to manage people and provide effective coaching 3 to 5 years experience with process planning and improvement Performance planning Self motivation, well developed organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities. Customer focus and results oriented Effective oral and written communication Understanding of financial resources for payment of services such as medical insurance, Medicare and Medicaid Community resources and services Complexities of the healthcare delivery system Regulatory requirements Long term care knowledge preferred, but not necessary Strong PC skills Work shouldn’t be something you do just to make ends meet.
