Quality Assurance Analyst 

 

Job Description:

Responsible for developing and executing a suite of test plans against web-based, software applications in order to verify qualify and identify defects prior to release.  Required to manage incident tracking tool, generate metrics regarding the testing phases, maintaining automated test scripts and to make recommendations regarding process improvements.

 Reports to:  Director of Software Development

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1.  Test plan development and execution for each release.

 

2.  Assist developers in troubleshooting and resolving issues.

 

3.  Review specifications in order to develop test plans.  Provide feedback to Analysts regarding any issues found in specifications.

 

4.  Provide management reports regarding issues found in QA.

 

5.  Development and execution of testing strategy for assigned products.

 

6.  Required to learn assigned products thoroughly.

 

7.  Testing methodologies must include both GUI testing and database level testing.

 

8.  Development and maintenance of basic scripts to automate the testing process.

 

9.  Works well with limited supervision, and reports status to project manager and/or manager.

 

10.  Other tasks as assigned.

 

Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess

1.  Experience testing Microsoft based, web driven applications.

2.  Knowledge of relational databases and query languages is preferred. 

3.  Strong teamwork and communication skills, both verbal and written, are a must.

4.  Analytical skills and focus on detail and creativity are vital.

5.  Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and concepts.

6.  Experience in Finance, Insurance, or Healthcare preferred
