Regional Sales Manager
Job Summary:
Our Sales Department is seeking a hard working, motivated individual that will be dedicated to achieving an increase in the sale of our disability insurance products. As a Regional Disability Insurance Sales Manger the individual will manage his/her region and generate the designated increase in DI sales for that territory.
This position will service a 16-state territory: MN, NE, KS, IA, MO, WI, IL, OH, PA, NJ, MA, CT, RI, NH, VT, ME. Travel throughout all of these states will be required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Determine the target distribution that will be most successful in marketing products and develop a strategy for successfully catering to this target distribution. Motivate and retain existing agent production and create new relationships through phone contacts, meetings, and regional training seminars. Communicate to management regularly in regards to region progress, activity changes, and ideas or initiatives that could benefit the regional agents. Work with the inside sales team to determine target phone activity and keep team informed of leads from the region. Conduct quality field calls by educating agents about Illinois Mutual DI products, by providing necessary agent supplies, and by discussing proposal information as requested. Travel regularly and work throughout designated territory. Build positive relationships and maintain excellent communication with all departments in the Home Office. Execute all job functions with high energy and professionalism.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree Professional insurance designation a plus Willingness and ability to work and travel through regional territory roughly 60% of the time Proven track record of growing DI or life sales in a respective region which includes recruiting, training, motivating, and building productive agent relationships Comprehensive understanding of the overall brokerage market and strong experience of implementing effective distribution strategies Comprehensive understanding of current market conditions within the DI insurance industry as well as broad based knowledge of all DI products being utilized in today’s marketplace Strong leadership qualities and initiative Exemplary professional conduct and appearance Ability to work under pressure and remain focused Excellent problem solving skills Superior relationship building skills Team player with high energy, enthusiasm, and positive attitude Outstanding verbal and written communication skills - including presentation and public speaking skills Excellent organization and time management skills
