Regional Sales Mgr-ISG - St. Louis - 33294 - GI

WellPoint is the nation's leading health benefits company serving the needs of approximately 28 million medical members nationwide.

Responsible for the achievement of or exceeding annual sales target as wells as renewals of assigned agents/brokers. Establishes and maintains effective business relationships with assigned brokers within the market area to sell WellPoint health plan and specialty products. Conducts sales presentations of products and proposals. Establishes business development strategies to grow book of business. Keeps abreast of competitors' activities and provides competitive/ marketplace input to Sales Management Team. High level sales executive with proven successful track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding goals. Applies effective sales consultative techniques and persuasive communication strategy to obtain production commitments from assigned agents/brokers. Formulates and defines market scope and business development strategies for assigned brokers to increase market penetration. Has a stable book of business. Participates in in-house training programs of new or enhanced product lines. Monitors the market performance of products and assesses competitors' activities. Provides suggestions to Sales Management on the marketplace dynamics, including competitors. Performs other related duties as required.

3 - 5 years sales experience in the industry preferred. Proven track record of successful sales and effective business relationships with important, major, top level brokers within the industry. Excellent know-how of the organization's various health plan and specialty products. Highly competent to work at the highest technical level. OR any combination of education and/or experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Sales experience skills, the ability to interact effectively and work with various home office personnel. Sales license required where necessary.
