Job ID: 17157 Posting Title: Reinsurance Claim Specialist Working Location: Schaumburg, IL Employment Status: Full-Time Job Summary: Part of a Reinsurance Communication Team that manages and distributes reinsurance notices and inquiry responses each year. Oversees the reinsurance notices and inquiries on long tail and/or complex underlying claims with moderate to high value claims reserved in expense and indemnity, including issues on the reinsurance contracts that respond to the underlying claim. Works with claim handlers throughout Zurich in North America to assist with preparing reinsurance notices and answering reinsurance inquiries. Assists team with researching reinsurance program and reviewing reinsurance notices before they are issued to the reinsurer. Provides input and assistance to Complex Reinsurance Claim Team. Participates in reinsurance claim audits. Job Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or equivalent required, advanced degree preferred.5 or more years of related experience. Environmental insurance coverage experience a must.1. Possesses an extensive knowledge of claims, reinsurance, and legal/coverage issues on direct and reinsurance claims for multiple lines of business. 2. PC literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, especially MS Excel. 3. Organized with good analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to excel in a team environment. 4. Diverse claim experience preferred, must have environmental or mass litigation experience.
