Working in a managed care setting, the Research Analyst is responsible for conducting health services research and contributing to the evaluation of case management and disease management programs. These programs seek to improve the well being of IBC's members with chronic illnesses. This position requires a range of research skills: planning analyses, data extraction/collection, data manipulation, interpretation and analysis (ranging from basic descriptive statistics to complex statistical models), report writing, and presenting results to clients.

 

The successful candidate will be part of our Informatics team and explore methodological issues in the evaluation of the programs, manage data used for reporting and analysis, evaluate program effectiveness, assess where there may be opportunities to improve the programs, and develop reports to inform senior management and external clients about the progress of the programs.

 

To qualify you must possess: Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Experimental Psychology, Biostatistics, or comparable program with a quantitative emphasis (Advanced degree preferred). Three years work experience conducting statistical analyses, preferably in a health-related field Multivariate linear and logistic regression skills Demonstrated programming skills (SAS, SQL, SPSS) Experience managing large or complex data sets Ability to communicate complex analysis results Experience managing health outcomes research projects from inception to final reporting Strong analytic and problem-solving skills Strong written and oral communication skills Training or experience with repeated measures, time-series, and survival analysis (preferred)
