Please read on for more details regarding this position. JOB DESCRIPTION: SUMMARY: Investigate and manage lost time claims of both questionable and clearcompensability, and of varying degrees of complexity. Manage incomingclaims through incoming claims roster. Minimum 3-5 years NC and SC WC claims handling experience required,extra preferred.NC and SC adjusting license required. PRIMARY DUTIES: Management of roster of incoming claims, investigating incoming claimsfor compensability, nature and extent of injuries.Perform claim case management of Workers Compensation claims that areassigned. Contact injured worker, employer and medical providers in a timelymanner to gather relevant information to assist in the investigation andevaluation of the claim, and manage claims of varying degrees ofcomplexity through conclusion. Manage files with an emphasis on file quality (including timely contactand proper documentation), maximizing internal resources, and achievinga positive end result. Facilitate timely claim resolution by leveraging any mitigationopportunities, including vocational rehabilitation, non-cooperation,unrelated medical conditions, and potential fraud and abuse. Build strong partnership with our internal nurse resources (Medical CaseManager) in order to integrate the delivery of medical services to theinjured worker. Work with our subrogation department in the investigation and pursuit ofsubrogation opportunities.Build strong relationships with accounts of varying size throughaggressive management of their claims.Identify claim issues as they arise, and take appropriate steps toresolve them.Establish appropriate reserves to reflect claim exposure. Manage litigated files through resolution of all legal issues, and buildrelationship with panel counsel.Work as part of a small claims team and willing to take on additionalresponsibilities as needed.Act as technical resource to others. EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY: College degree is preferred. WORK EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years minimum of NC and SC workers compensation claim handlingexperience including investigative skills, resolution skills,evaluation, negotiation and reserving skills OTHER: Complete understanding of all policy, coverage and endorsementimplications, and AOE/COE issues Technical and jurisdictional and case law knowledge.
