SE II - Business Intelligence Tool Administrator

Dean Health Plan has a maturing enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence program and is relying on BI tools such as Informatica, Business Objects, and Crystal Reports to deliver solutions to the business. The Business Intelligence Tool Admin will play a critical central role between the IT department and the Business Intelligence Competency Center by serving as the primary BI product system administrator. If you are experienced in development and/or administration of one of the above mentioned BI tools, then this would be an excellent opportunity for you to advance your career! Will provide enough support and training for you to learn the other tools. In addition, we have a full staff of four Database Administrators and two Application Support Analysts to support you in your role. With over 20 people at Dean Health Plan working on the Informatica suite of products, that makes us one of the largest Informatica shops in the state. The incumbent's opportunity for career and professional growth is wide open as these skills correlate well with our development staff, the entire Business Intelligence Competency Center and the systems analyst group.
Detailed Job Duties:
•1st / 2nd line application (internal and vendor systems) and business process support for applications, including out of hours work (via remote access)
•Support of external client interfaces (reports, report delivery, information capture)
•Root cause analysis of problems, including solution recommendation
•Operational and support activity remediation analysis
•Building a procedure framework and enhancement of knowledge base.
•Assisting in activities such as capacity planning, project tasks, and ad-hoc requests
•Liaison with Development teams on future applications to be released
•Take ownership of issues through to resolution or escalation, as appropriate
•Pro-actively improve quality of systems and service, and increase business value
•Undertake projects as required, including, but not restricted to, the following areas: capacity and performance
management, monitoring initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, web based tools, reporting and documentation
•Uphold / champion policies, procedures and standards
Required_Skills:
•Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science or equivalent. Associate’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or equivalent may be acceptable with appropriate additional career experience
•Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms
•Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
•Outstanding customer communication and service delivery skills
•Aptitude for analysis and problem-solving
•Strong technical knowledge, with hands-on experience in new computing architectures and environments (e.g.,
client/server Web); knowledge of relevant technology, tools, and middleware is critical, including development
technologies and scripting languages, OLE/MS Office, Windows, ODBC, GUIs, RPCs, and various RDBMSs
•Strong technical knowledge with Business Intelligence tools and/or OLAP tools (SAS, Crystal Reports, Business Objects, etc.)
Preferred_Skills:
•Prior experience in administration and support for Business Intelligence tools and/or OLAP tools (SAS, Crystal
Reports, Business Objects)
•Understanding of health care insurance concepts
