SYSTEMS MANAGER

Columbia, SC based company looking for a full time employee to work as a Systems Manager for a team of 7-13 people. Systems Manager will contribute to the delivery of successful project results through staffing people management and issue resolution; thereby acting as a project leader for assigned project/initiative efforts (e.g., production support).

Manager will be responsible for managing small resource teams in support of multiple systems projects, which provide a variety of broad-based systems solutions to resolve business problems. Must be able to provide continued coaching, guidance, development, planning and performance management. This person will also hold employee profiles and perform standard supervisory/administration tasks.

In addition, the manager will develop and maintain strong partnerships with business/customer areas, participate in business/systems resource allocation, project costs, development of project objectives, and project status communication in support of operational planning. The Manager will balance operational support with developing strategic view and direction to resolve business problems as well as contribute to the ongoing evolution of the development methodology.

Skills:Specific experience in leading large mainframe application development efforts Development Experience Mainframe platform Working knowledge of Microsoft,.Net and MVS COBOL SQL server C# VB ASP Experience in mentoring Experience in managing small resource teams in support of multiple projects Leadership experience Claims business application experience on a mainframe platform Workflow application experience Image applications experience (on a distributed platform Auto letter generation systems experience (is a 3rd party vendor system that has distributed mainframe components) Experience in evaluating and re-engineering mainframe applications and associated architecture. Experience in implementing large third-party application systems and integrate them into complex mainframe/distributed environments. Experience with claims and imaging/workflow systems Working knowledge of development methodology Working knowledge of Data Analysis concepts and terminology Understanding of systems functionality and integration within a discipline/business process
