SENIOR DATA ANALYST
Position Summary:
Midwest Employers Casualty Company (MECC) seeks a Senior Data Analyst for our main office in Chesterfield, MO. This position is responsible for the analysis, processing and managing of complex electronic data requests from Third Party Administrator (TPA) partners. This includes managing the data intake process, analysis and data mapping using SQL, data quality controls and upload of "cleansed" data to appropriate data storage facilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assume total ownership of assigned Third Party Administrators (TPAs) for the entire Client Information Unit process. Develop and apply data quality controls for data accuracy and consistency. Maintain documentation for changes to ensure integrity of data and maintain individual issue logs for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance purposes. Partner with internal business users and service providers to fully understand the business users’ data needs, obtain data, and complete the initial analysis, data quality and verification. Partner with IT service providers to ensure complete delivery to user.Provide superior customer service by utilizing the knowledge, skills and abilities of available resources.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Formal Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
Customers:Serve as liaison between business units, technology teams and support teams Knowledge of internal customers' job responsibilities and standards of performance Knowledge of claim related TPA operations
Products & Services: Gain knowledge and understanding of MECC's insurance products and services within 6 months Gain knowledge and understanding of MECC's core values within 6 monthsGain knowledge and understanding of MECC's claim programs within 6 monthsGain knowledge and understanding of Insurance Terminology Required to take/pass AICPCU exam within six months of hire
Skills:Advanced analytical and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business and requirements Critically analyze complex client data gathered from multiple resources and reconcile conflictsExperience mapping and analyzing dataExperience with test plans and testing cycles
Abilities:Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
Software/Technology:Gain knowledge and understanding of CIU’s Excess Data Processing Website within 6 monthsGain knowledge and understanding of CIU’s interaction with internal transactional systems within 6 months Experience using Oracle (Hyperion query tool)Proficient in Microsoft Office PC skills to include Word, Excel, Access and SQLKnowledge and understanding of Data Warehouse concepts
