ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
The Senior Database Architect is responsible for the configuration and architectures of existing databases within company wide environment. The senior database architect will manage the implementation of database environments, tables, objects, and storage. The senior database architect will work with operational DBA team to analyze day-to-day database performance and implement optimizations as needed. The senior database architect will assess emerging database technologies and how they can be utilized effectively in the environment. Serving as the in-house “guru” for all matters concerning SQL Server, researching and getting outside assistance as needed to ensure a fact based response to challenges other team members have with performance, concurrency and other database oriented issues
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be a resource to the operations team and provide technical expertise and vision.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree (preferably in Computer Science)
SKILLS:
• A minimum of Ten (10) years of experience as a database Administrator/Architect
• Excellent knowledge of designing and implementing Microsoft SQL Server Databases and Services (2000 and 2005 64bit)
• Excellent knowledge of database systems; database design, and database implementation / normalization strategies, and problem solving skills.
• Proven track record of work involving both custom application development and integration of off-the-shelf & Third Party solutions.
• Experience with data warehousing, data marts, dimensional modeling, OLAP and Microsoft reporting and analysis services are also preferred.
• Knowledge of C#/.NET database integration methods would be helpful
