Senior E&O Claims Examiner

 



 

 

The Colony Group offers excess and surplus (E&S) insurance to businesses that generally cannot purchase insurance from standard lines insurers due to the perceived risks related to their businesses.  Focusing on small to medium-sized premium accounts, Colony provides commercial liability, commercial property, product liability and environmental liability coverages to commercial enterprises, including restaurants, artisan contractors, daycare centers and manufacturers, as well as professional liability coverages for healthcare providers (other than physicians) and other professionals.

 

The Colony Group currently has a challenging opportunity for an E&O Claims Examiner in the Chicago office. 

 

Specific job duties and responsibilities include:

·  Review and analysis of insurance coverage;

·  Investigation and evaluation of E&O liability claims involving accountants, lawyers, title agents, non-profit D&O, EPL and miscellaneous E&O;

·  Negotiation of cases, including those in litigation.

 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

·  College degree;

·  5+ years professional liability (mainly E&O related) claims handling experience;

·  Strong litigation background;

·   Excellent interpersonal skills

·  Strong written/verbal communication skills;

·  Computer knowledge;

·  Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
