As a Senior Financial Analyst for USAA, you will perform complex accounting, financial reporting and analysis functions. You will serve as an advisor to management on complex business or financial processes. Job duties: Reviews, prepares, analyzes, and interprets complex financial data to determine reasonableness and accuracy of information. Analyzes financial information and supports the decision-making processes of business partners. Identifies and anticipates problems, critical issues and implements appropriate responses to meet business challenges. Interprets information, identifies opportunities and implements process improvements to increase work efficiencies, optimize competitive advantage and contribute to the achievement of business goals and objectives. Makes decisions concerning the accounting and/or reporting treatment of financial information. Performs special studies and research/analysis of financial and operational issues and recommends courses of action. May periodically lead projects or teams or provide work direction to team members. Qualified candidates need to possess: Broad knowledge of the principles and theories of finance, accounting and/or other related business fields and disciplines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and functionalities of corporate financial systems. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 4+ years of progressive financial experience. Experience with forecasting and planning tools and systems. Preferred experience includes: Knowledge and previous work experience in the investment industry, specifically the brokerage business. Experience with Cognos and EssBase. Ability to multi-task. Quick learning skills. Experience briefing senior management. Higher level of qualifications may warrant higher level of position.
