Please read on for more details regarding this position. JOB DESCRIPTION: SUMMARY:Senior level position, responsible for conducting and documenting financial controls, including quarterly self-assessments for multiple property units, and complex financial analysis projects. Provide functional advice and training to less experienced financial analyst jobs. Supervise day-to-day unit activities for a function supporting multiple Property Claim units/offices. Activities impact complex expense and/or systems/operational projects dealing with reports and data management. PRIMARY DUTIES:Oversee daily, monthly, quarterly financial controls, and perform quarterly testing of controls with required documentation to Senior Management, Claim Finance, and corporate auditors.Produce accurate and timely monthly/weekly &daily financial reports,variance analyses, ad hoc reports and modeling to meet area reporting requirements. Provide financial and/or accounting expertise and act as project leader for teams addressing broad financial and/or accounting/expense issues.Analyze and interpret trends and variances in business performance & expenses.Handle large, complex projects and resolves difficult issues. Act as technical resource to less experienced members of unit.Recommend solutions for process inefficiencies. EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY:Typically has a bachelors degree in finance or accounting. WORK EXPERIENCE:Significant financial analysis/accounting experience.In depth knowledge of accounting practices and principles. Demonstrated expertise in spreadsheet and database software and financial modeling tools. Understanding of insurance products. Advanced formal financial education preferred. COMMUNICATION SKILLS:Effectively articulates financial/accounting/expense reporting issues to team members, customers, management and external parties. COMPUTER SKILLS:Proficient in using company systems/processes. OTHER:Clearly understands how unit relates to the business supported and aligns work to support business goals. Maintains a positive, achievement-oriented attitude. Demonstrates initiative and innovation in achieving results. Anticipates customer on-going financial needs. Uses resources effectively. Is well organized and sets priorities to meet critical business needs. Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills.Able to work in a team environment or independently.
