Senior Internal Auditor
Description:Liberty Mutuals continued growth has led to expanded opportunities within the Corporate Internal Auditing Department. We are looking for motivated and experienced individuals to fill Senior Auditor positions. Acting as an independent consultant, you will assist management by performing risk assessments and evaluating critical business processes. As part of our team environment, you will plan and execute audits using our customized audit approach and electronic workpaper system. Key responsibilities include defining scope, analyzing controls, performing and reviewing testwork, reporting results, and coaching staff. Domestic travel is expected to be 10-25%.1. Provides significant input to project planning (On larger, more complex audits, perform the majority of the audit planning. On smaller, less complex audits, incorporate assigned staff into the planning process.)2. Ensures Risk Control Matrix is completed effectively, process under review is thoroughly documented and analyzed and process weaknesses are identified.3. Develops audit program steps that will effectively and efficiently evaluate key controls.4. For complex testing, performs audit testing as outlined in the audit program.5. Ensures testwork is documented facilitating the reviewers understanding of source of data, program steps and rationale for testing. Documents audit (testing) results in accordance with Department standards. Workpapers show analysis of results and conclude on effectiveness of controls.6. Uses company and audit software (e.g. Audit Command Language, InfoAccess, Excel) to analyze data and set audit scopes, select valid samples, and document and analyze results.7. Communicates audit issues and related recommendations to auditee management. Drafts audit reports that provide an accurate assessment of the audit area, and propose feasible solutions to problems identified.8. Completes projects within established time budgets and milestones without sacrificing quality. Reviews staff workpapers to ensure work is completed in accordance with departmental standards. Ensures team is working with high productivity and a sense of urgency.9. Provides timely coaching and feedback to staff in the form of constructive review notes and comprehensive project evaluations.Qualifications:Requires a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics or Business Administration and at least two years of work experience in internal auditing or public accounting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, audit and analytical skills.
