We are one of the leading insurance companies in the United States.  Our superior financial strength and consistent record of strong operating returns mean security for our customers - and opportunities for our employees.  You will find Travelers to be full of energy and a workplace in which you truly can make a difference. We are currently looking for a Senior QA Consultant.  Please read on for more details regarding this position. JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is with the Travelers Personal Insurance Quality Assurance area and is a Project Management type role of the Quality and Testing scope of application development projects.   Responsibilities: -Manage Quality and Testing aspects of projects. -Serve as QA single point of contact to project partners (business, PMO, development areas, etc.). -Form collaborative partnerships with strategic areas (business, PMO, development areas, etc.). -Define and manage Quality Scope project schedule. -Monitor and Control the Quality Scope budget/cost. -Own communication of Quality Scope details (including status reporting, project metrics, etc.). -Control Quality and Testing risks/issues (including issue escalation). -Enforce Quality/Testing related Agree to Proceed checkpoints. -Document project specific Test Strategies. -Ensure project Test Execution Plan is documented and contains all pertinent details. -Ensure Test Conditions and Test Cases are thoroughly documented. -Ensure success of Test Execution. -Facilitate and lead project defect meetings. -Hold the team accountable for the quality and timeliness of their work, escalate issues to the leadership team as appropriate. -Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Quality Lifecycle (processes, control points, artifacts, and signoffs).  Experience/Qualifications: -Minimum of 3 years project or quality management experience. -Excellent knowledge of project management disciplines (planning, scheduling, cost control, dependency analysis, critical path theory, risk prioritization, etc.) -Must possesses and be able to apply advanced knowledge of quality assurance techniques in the design and coordination of QA activities. -Clear and thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle -Excellent communication skills ¿ verbal and written. -Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills. -Effective influencing and negotiating skills. -Ability to dissect complex issues in order to drive decision making. -Hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project or other project planning tool. -PMP a plus but not required.  In addition to an exciting environment, we offer: * Competitive base salary with additional opportunities for variable pay through recognition programs and incentive awards * 401(k) with company match* Comprehensive health plans that include coverage for same sex/domestic partners* Strong work/family and employee assistance programs* Tuition reimbursement * Vacation Purchase Plan* Training/Development opportunities We are proud to provide comprehensive, high quality employee programs to meet employees' needs now and in the future, including a very competitive financial package.
