SR. DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR SQL SERVER

Evaluates, designs and manages SQL Servers in a client/server environment. Works with users to analyze requirements and defines specifications for database access, structure, functional capabilities, documentation, security, backup and recovery. Performs validation checks, maintains and coordinates SP upgrade of SQL 2000 and installation of SQL 2005. Requires thorough knowledge of relational database systems, Structured Query Language (SQL), referential integrity, triggers, stored procedures, DTS (Data Transformation Service) packages and SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS).

Technical expertise: required to monitor and manage all PRC SQL Servers. Ensure database integrity, maintain database security and availability. Such as:
SQL Back-up and Restores, including full and differential backup. CommVault experience is a plus.
Database Integrity checking and re-indexing. Familiar with SQL Server functions and utilities such as stat, reindex and DBCC.
Maintain DTS (Data Transformation Services) packages and SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS).
Enforce database security
Capacity planning and Performance monitoring/tuning. Familiar with SQL Server table space and transaction log architecture. Familiar with CPU, memory and disk space monitor and forecast. SAN knowledge is a plus. Familiar with SQL Profiler.
Installation and Maintenance of SQL 2000 / 2005 on Windows servers.
Set up and maintenance of Legato AutoStart SQL Server cluster with Windows Server environment.
Set up and maintenance of SQL Server Transactional Replication, especially pull replication.
Administration and knowledge of SQL language for SQL server.
Familiar with technologies of ETL and Data warehouse. Knowledge of Informatica is a plus.
Knowledge of Windows Server Operation System.


Work ethic and organization skill:
Good organizational methods, problem solving skills, communications and interpersonal skills.
Basic understanding of programming, the life cycle of development and insurance processes.
Great work ethic is required to support many SQL Servers in Windows in a 24 by 7 environment.
