Senior Surety Underwriter

My client, a national AM Best Rated A- (Excellent) carrier, has a unique opportunity for a Senior Surety Underwriter to join their team in the beautiful San Francisco offices.

In this highly visible role, you will be held accountable for managing all aspects of your book of business, providing superior customer service, while maintaining a high level of renewal retention through disciplined underwriting and pricing practices.

To be successful in this position, you will need a minimum of 10 years as a Surety Underwriter, as well as the ability to be effective in marketing and cross-selling the company products and services to agents and brokers, which includes claims services, loss control, underwriting and auditing.

In addition, you will also be responsible for the following:Reviewing and analyzing new business risks for acceptability in accordance with company guidelines and standards Securing, evaluating and interpreting data to select, classify, and rate risks Independently applying subjective judgment in considering program alternatives and selecting appropriate course of actionMaking appropriate and rational decisions on issues within authorityOther duties as assigned
