Willis Programs has a great opportunity for an aggressive, proactive Senior Underwriter with specialized experience underwriting utility business to include natural gas utilities, water, sewer, electric power distribution, telephone and cable utilities.  This unique position will underwrite and price both new and renewal business for our growing utilities niche program.  The Senior Underwriter provides superior customer service to independent agents and brokers submitting these specialty risks.  This is a superb opportunity for a dedicated, ambitious production-oriented self-starter interested in working with a dynamic team of professionals.  For more information on other Willis Programs, visit us at http://www.willisprograms.com/.

 

Primary duties:

 Underwrites new and renewal utility program business for acceptability: reviews applications, coverage’s, account history, claims and engineering reports. Gathers all supporting underwriting information; orders physical audits and inspection reports.Discusses pricing with agent or broker; quotes accounts within authority.Submits accounts above authority to company with detailed underwriting summary and suggested pricing; negotiates pricing with company; assembles quote.Responsible for coverage changes and policy form modifications: works in conjunction with company to provide modifications.Maintains premium and statistical information for monthly reports; maintains account logs for control of audits, letters of credit and any other outstanding items. Initiates and assists sales staff with new business development, when appropriate.
