Software Architect - Document Management

Applied Underwriters, www.applieduw.com , is a Berkshire Hathaway Company based in Foster City, CA. We are a monoline insurance company focused on workers compensation insurance.

Applied is in the process of going "paperless." We are currently searching for a senior "Software Developer" with specific experience in developing a document management system. This will be a full time position and has the potential to stretch into additional projects depending on the candidate's skill set.

We are searching for the following:

Mid to Senior level programmer who is good with data structures and possesses a solid algorithmic background to architect, design and implement a document management system. The system will be capable of managing images for the purposes of organizing, indexing, viewing, accessing and printing them. The document management system will integrate with our databases and support our existing applications. This person must understand the mechanics of imaging and have experience working on similiar systems. We understand there are several "off-the-shelf" imaging products (ie Mobilis, EMC, Kofax). We do not want OTS/COTS. We are searching for someone to create our own system that does the imaging. This person must have experience creating similar applications to be considered for this role.

This person can live anywhere in the US, however will be expected to travel as needed. This is a great gig for someone with experience in the "Document Management" system niche.
