We are one of the leading insurance companies in the United States.  Our superior financial strength and consistent record of strong operating returns mean security for our customers - and opportunities for our employees.  You will find Travelers to be full of energy and a workplace in which you truly can make a difference. We are currently looking for a Specialty Finance Manager.  Please read on for more details regarding this position. JOB DESCRIPTION: Summary:Responsible for monitoring financial activity for special insurance programs.  Responsibilities include the reporting of premium data, analyzing and ensuring the integrity of claim information, recording and managing reinsurance recoverables from captives and maintaining adequate collateral for unauthorized reinsurance.  Also responsible for training, supervising, monitoring, reviewing and evaluating work of Specialty  Finance Analysts, as well as working closely with other team members in order to meet reporting deadlines.  Work closely with internal and external parties, including but not limited to underwriters, marketers, actuaries, claims personnel, credit department, program managers, third party administrators and captive managers. Job requirements:-Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience (7-8 years work experience)-Experience in reinsurance accounting (preferred but not essential).-Strong computer and PC skills, including knowledge of Excel, Lotus and Word.-Supervisory skills, including strong inter-personal and communication skills.-Strong organizational skills.-Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to recognize unusual numerical relationships in financial data.-Must be comfortable working with detail but also able to see the big picture.-Some domestic travel involved In addition to an exciting environment, we offer: * Competitive base salary with additional opportunities for variable pay through recognition programs and incentive awards * 401(k) with company match* Comprehensive health plans that include coverage for same sex/domestic partners* Strong work/family and employee assistance programs* Tuition reimbursement * Vacation Purchase Plan* Training/Development opportunities We are proud to provide comprehensive, high quality employee programs to meet employees' needs now and in the future, including a very competitive financial package.
