Senior Account Executive, Group Benefits

We have an immediate opportunity in our New York office for a Senior Account Executive in our Group Benefits area. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining an assigned book of business as well as assisting in the sales process with prospective clients. Duties include:
Daily servicing/maintenance of assigned book of business in the mid to large group marketResponding to benefit inquiries by providing information on insurance coverage, claims, and billingDay to day service for all clients such as enrollments, terminations, billing issues, claim issues and CobraReviewing and coordinating insurance contracts and benefit certificatesPreparing Requests for Proposals or utilizes quoting software Analyzing fully and self insured renewals and claims data experienceAnalyzing marketing efforts and preparing proposals for in-force clients as outlined in department proceduresPreparing employee communication (memos, power point presentations, forms, etc.) for enrollment meetingsConducting employee benefit meetings for in-force and prospective clientsCreating and customizing communications and reports to meet specific client needsMaintaining carrier, vendor, and general agent relationshipsPenetrating existing accounts by adding new lines of coverage whenever possibleAssisting in staff training and educationWorking on special projects as assigned and contributing ideas for improvements in efficiency of workflow process
The ideal candidate will have:A Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience/trainingLife & Health License (required)A minimum of five years prior experience as a group sales/service representative Familiarity with inside/outside sales processes Knowledge of community rated and experience rated group medical business, including funding methods. Knowledge of ancillary lines (life/AD&D, STD, LTD, dental & vision), as well as FSA, transit and parking. Understanding of 5500 filingKnowledge of third party administratorsSolid MS Office skills, solid math and analytical skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
