Sr. Business Analyst - Life Insurance

Major Duties and Functions Include: Responsible for the analysis, process, design and implementation of all lines of business requirements, as well as the administrative system components. This person will demonstrate ability in collaborating with business unit customers in the planning, negotiation, development, testing, installation, and maintenance of high quality, effective technology applications. The Sr. Business Analyst also must possess strong planning, coordination, people management, communication, and influence skills. Principal Responsibilities: Conduct meetings with business partners, IT/AD associates, and external vendors to define and document requirements for systems processing. Develop use case documents and detailed business rules for all processes. Design system solutions {for internal systems or external interfaces} to meet all requirements and develop functional specifications for development team. Evaluate new business initiatives to assess impact on existing and planned internal and external systems. Participate in evaluation and acquisition of software products to enhance or add functionality. Apply appropriate methodologies to applications system development process. Management of customer requirements and requests throughout an entire project lifecycle will be a primary focus for this candidate. The ability to prioritize multiple project streams while keeping all on track and delivering in time is critical to the success of this organization. Create and manage project budgets and plans. Facilitate working relationships between various enterprise teams/organizations. Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required: Analysis and Decision Making: Utilize analytical skills and sound judgment to evaluate problems and opportunities in an organized and logical manner. Coach others to anticipate outcome of various options resulting in timely decisions. Business Perspective: Develop an appropriate level of knowledge about the company mission, strategy, and practices. Communicate the direction to the IT organization and its alignment to the business objectives. Customer Focus: Develop and maintain effective partnerships, solicit feedback with key individuals and customer contacts in order to understand and anticipate their needs, the business environment, other challenges and opportunities. Project Management: Effectively plan, organize, and execute projects of varying complexity, delivering them within specified timeframes and budgets, utilizing the accepted project management methodology and supportive tools, such as: (MS Project, MS Office Suite). Actively involve customers in project activities to ensure business objectives are being met. Team Contribution: Provide leadership to build and maintain supportive relationships and commitment of team members to team goals and objectives. Demonstrate strong leadership skills, decisiveness, and impart confidence in others. Work to build supportive relationships and eliminate unproductive conflict 5 Years + experience as a Business Analyst and or Project Manager. Provide project status reporting.
