Sr HR Business Partner

Position Summary:

Functions  as an embedded participant in the management team of assigned business units, providing counsel and guidance at the operational level and influencing business leaders to link people strategies to overall business objectives.  Will act an internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to human resource issues relating to assigned departments.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Consulting - Contribute to the business performance by providing strategic consulting on people strategies, organizational effectiveness and other human capital or business initiatives. 
Staffing  – Partner with assigned managers to determine recruiting strategies; forecast needs, source, interview, assess and recommend candidates, requisition approval and tracking; coordinate hiring, relocation, use of temporary/contract employees; coordination of college relations/internship program.  Facilitate employee termination process, represent company in unemployment hearings, conduct exit interviews and analyze staffing trends recommend and implement solutions as needed.
Performance Management – Coach/counsel managers regarding performance process, issues and all disciplinary actions
Employee Relations – Work with management and employees to facilitate resolution in employee relations issues which may include formal investigation and complaint resolution. 

New Hire Integration, Employee Training and Development –Coach/counsel employees and managers regarding career development and succession planning, recommend and advise appropriate training for managers and employees.  Assess opportunities for training and/or teambuilding and assist in the delivery of programs.

Benefits/Compensation – Serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers on issues or questions regarding salary administration, incentive compensation, and benefits

HR Policies and Programs – Partner with Human Resources Director, develop and implement HR policies and programs as needs are identified.  Maintains compliance with all standards, controls, policies and practices  to comply with SOX regulations, federal, state and local laws.

Experience and Educational Requirements: College degree or the equivalent in related work experience. 10+ years of relevant HR generalist exp required.  2+ years HR management exp. SPHR preferred.
